The story of icango started in 2023 when our founder, Patricia, went to Germany to attend her sister's wedding. Family from all over the world flew in to celebrate this event, including her beloved uncle "Tio Messias" and aunt "Tia Leni".

It was the first time they both traveled abroad and they only spoke Portuguese. In a few different instances she saw them having difficulties communicating - inspiring the idea around icango. When she got home, she spoke to others and was shocked this was a much more common problem than she had initially expected. Some people saying they would avoid traveling altogether because of the fear of not knowing how to speak the foreign language.
